Keeping Pace with Fintech Disruption

May 2019 - Banque BEMO Private Banking Foreign Clients department, in close collaboration with the Wealth & Investment Management, organized a presentation entitled “Keeping Pace with FinTech Disruption” at Beirut Digital District. The event aimed at eliciting a bond with the Private Banking clients’ future successors aged between 18 and 30 years old, and providing them with an overview on how financial technology is transforming the banking and financial industry.

Mr. Samih Saadeh - Vice-Chairman and General Manager welcomed the esteemed guests by stating that the young generation is an important pillar, whereby this presentation aims to provide them with necessary information about FinTech and the latest technologies trends and challenges, the Robo-Advisory being one of the new waves in FinTech, providing digital financial advice and online investment management.

Dr. Riad Obegi - Chairman of the Board stressed on the importance of FinTech while focusing on the Relationships that are at the center of everything we do at the Bank, and that they remain unchanged despite all the new trends.

 Mr. Rami Saadeh – Wealth and Investment Senior Manager discussed how digitization is fundamentally transforming banking as we know it today while displaying the potential business models, technologies and innovations arising from this digitization. Mr. Rami Saadeh discussed the future of each of Money, Capital Markets, Marketplaces and Banks highlighting the key drivers for the transformation.

 The presentation was followed by a cocktail reception.
