Award Ceremony for Institutions reporting their Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Banque BEMO took part in the “Award Ceremony for Institutions reporting their Greenhouse Gas Emissions” that was organized by the Ministry Of Environment Lebanon in collaboration with UNDP Lebanon.
Since 2017, Banque BEMO is committed to calculating, monitoring, reducing, and disclosing its carbon footprint in close collaboration with V4 Advisors DMCC.
2025 marked a strong milestone in the Bank’s climate journey. Compared to the 2017 baseline, the total GHG emissions have been reduced by nearly half, while renewable energy accounted for almost 4% of total energy-related emissions in July, our highest-emissions month, demonstrating tangible progress even during peak operational periods.
The distribution of GHG certificates was preceded by speeches delivered by H.E. Dr. Tamara El Zein, Minister of Environment, Ms. Blerta Aliko, UNDP Lebanon Resident Representative, and Ms. Lea Kai, Manager of UNDP’s Climate Change Projects at the Ministry of Environment.
